Oviedo.

We spent a day in Oviedo, which is very close to Gijón, before we boarded our night train for Barcelona. It’s a beautiful city to spend the day. We sampled the sidra (apple cider) which you have to pour into your glass from a distance. And you just pour enough into your glass for one or two gulps. They gave us an entire bottle, about a liter, for 2 euros. We figured it was so cheap because half of the bottle ends up on the floor. Warren also stepped through a rain drain grating, up to his knee. I thought he had broken his leg, but he was fine. In Spain, if you fall through faulty grating installed by the city, you’re an idiot. What were you doing not watching where you were going? Apparently, litigation is not a big thing there.

Large versions of the photos are available here.

The only evidence we visited the Oviedo cathedral.

Just imagine the glass into which I am pouring the cider.

Warren's notes: YES, it was me that botched this shot but I just stepped in a really big hole and I was excited about drinking a whole bottle of Cidra.
