Gijón.

Gijón is a quiet town in the province of Asturias, on the Atlantic. We expected the weather to be Seattle-like. While overcast for much of our stay, the temperature was pretty warm, enabling us to stroll around the city without needing to run for cover. We decided to visit Gijón not for any stunning monument or recommendation – we had found a great deal on a swank hotel there, and decided it was worth it to go a little out of our way to experience a little luxury. The hotel lived up to its promises, with a great restaurant, a beautiful building, and a great location. The building is an old mill in a park that houses a wild aviary. So there were hundreds of interesting water birds wandering around and peacocks everywhere. It was a lovely setting.
